John Tyler senior quarterback Greg Ward is having some kind of season. He's the triggerman for the Lions' high-flying offense and never makes mistakes.

Ever. He has still yet to thrown an interception in 247 attempts on the year.

Ward continued his assault on opposing defenses last week in John Tyler's dominating 77-20 victory over Waxahachie in their Class 4A Division I Region II bi-district playoff, earning ETSN.fm Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

The Houston commit completed 18 of 25 passes for 363 yards and four touchdowns while running for 79 yards and two more scores to vault the Lions into their area-round matchup with Wylie, scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at Rose Stadium in Tyler.

Ward's touchdown passes covered 18, 87, 34 and 21 yards. He had scoring runs of 1 and 49 yards. The TD tosses went to three different receivers -- Fred Ross, Darion Flowers and Justice Liggins.

For the season, Ward has completed 70.4 percent of his passes for 2,831 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also leads John Tyler with 613 rushing yards and nine TDs.

The 5-10, 165-pound standout previously won the honor after his Oct. 12 performance in the District 16-4A opener against Corsicana.
