TYLER -- It didn't look like Game 2 between Redwater and Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill would match the dramatics of Redwater's series-opening win Thursday night.

Twenty-two runs and 28 hits later, there was plenty to talk about.

Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill put together a seven-run third inning and held on for a 12-10 win over Redwater on Friday at Mike Carter Field, forcing a third and decisive game in their Class 2A Region II bi-district playoff series.

The two teams square off in the rubber match at 2 p.m. Saturday from Lobo Field in Longview. The winner will face Edgewood next week in the area round.

Jordan Laney doubled and had three RBIs to lead Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill, while Dylan Zachry, Baron Rogers, Brenan Dobbs and Tanner Luck all had two RBIs in the winning effort.

Redwater was led offensively by Jared Bristow, who finished 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Dalton McCarty went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Deven Surratt had two hits and two batted in and John Cleghorn was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

The Red Devils built a 7-2 lead after hanging a seven-spot in the bottom of the third. The inning was highlighted by Rogers' two-run double and Laney's bases-clearing double.

The Red Devils' lead eventually swelled to 9-2, but Redwater stormed back with six runs of its own in the top of the fifth to pull within a run. Cleghorn singled to center to make it 9-8, but Surratt was thrown out on a close play at home to end the inning.

The Red Devils added three insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth on Zachry's two-run double and a sacrifice fly by Dustin Brown.

McCarty doubled in a run and Surratt followed with an RBI single in the seventh to bring the Dragons to within two runs, but Dobbs induced Tate Doty into a double play to end the game.
