TYLER -- Nathan Harshbarger pitched a three-hit shutout, sparking Nacogdoches to a 2-0 win over Lufkin Hudson on Thursday during action at the 22nd Annual Rose City Classic at Mike Carter Field.

Harshbarger struck out six and walked two in seven innings as the Dragons improved to 2-0 in the classic after rallying for four runs in the seventh inning to stun Sulphur Springs, 5-4, earlier in the day.

Pat Ledet and Brigham Hill had RBIs for Nacogdoches, while Hunter McClellan went 2-for-3 on the afternoon.

Anthony Doss took the loss for Lufkin Hudson. He allowed two runs and 10 hits in six innings, striking out three and walking one.

Harshbarger retired the first 10 batters he faced before issuing a one-walk to Gentry Ford in the fourth. However, Harshbarger induced Trevor Adams into a double play to end the inning.

The sophomore right-hander allowed his first hit with two outs in the fifth on a double by Blake Nerren. Harshbarger escaped damage by getting Luke English to pop out to first.

Nacogdoches took a 1-0 lead in the fourth on Ledet's RBI single to left-center that scored Hill, who led off the inning with a walk and moved to second on an errant pickoff attempt by Doss.

The Dragons added to their lead in the fifth with an RBI single by Hill that brought home Reed Watson, who doubled.

Nacogdoches continues play at the Rose City Classic at 10 a.m. Friday against Hallsville, while Lufkin Hudson meets Sulphur Springs at 12:15 p.m. and then Kilgore at 7 p.m.
