Navy Offers Texas High’s Tre Walker + Taylor Jackson

Two Texas High senior football players got Division I FBS offers from the same school Wednesday afternoon.

Running back Tre Walker and receiver Taylor Jackson got offers from Navy, giving East Texas' 2014 class three dozen football players with at least one D-I FBS offer.

Walker led the Tigers, who won the District 14-4A championship, with 1,287 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, while catching 28 passes for 249 yards and three scores. The 5-foot-9, 165-pound running back also received a track offer from Tulsa and a football offer from Texas A&M-Commerce (Division II) on Wednesday. Network Athletics alerted ETSN.fm to the offers.

Jackson caught 19 passes for 394 yards and a team-high seven touchdown receptions during the 2013 season, which saw Texas High finish 9-2 with a Class 4A Division I Region II first-round playoff appearance. Like Walker, Jackson had more than the Navy offer come through Wednesday as he also received a football offer from Texas Southern (Division I FCS).

Southern Arkansas has also offered Walker and Jackson, who give Navy six East Texas targets in the 2014 class. The Midshipmen have also offered Liberty-Eylau quarterback Rashaan Donelson, Whitehouse linebacker Reggie Long, Tyler Grace athlete Kade Clayton, and Chapel Hill defensive back Joseph Clark, who is committed to Texas Tech.
