Todd Quick is replacing a legend and his best friend, John Outlaw, as Lufkin's head coach. While the last eight  months have been a time that a lot of people have wondered and worried about Panther Nation, this team is in good hands.

Make no mistake, I loved John Outlaw like a second father. His record not only in Lufkin, but also in Sherman and Arkansas speaks for itself. But, Quick is not only the right coach for this job, most importantly he is the right man for the job. It's going to take a special person to step in after a legend,  and  Quick is that person.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Coach Quick on Monday just moments before his first official practice as head coach of the Panthers.
