New Mexico State Offers Pine Tree’s Caleb Chumley

The eighth Division I FBS offer arrived Tuesday afternoon for Caleb Chumley.

Pine Tree's big, athletic quarterback tweeted that he was offered by New Mexico State.

Kansas was the previous most recent program to offer the 6-foo-5, 220-pounder, who got the Jayhawks offer June 13. Chumley's offer list is now as follows: Houston, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, New Mexico State, North Texas, Oregon State, and Texas State.

Programs have recruited Chumley at multiple positions, including quarterback, receiver, and tight end. Chumley played most of the 2012 season at receiver before a late-season move to quarterback, which yielded staggering numbers in less than three full games running the offense: 1,135 passing yards, 462 rushing yards, and 17 total touchdowns.

Chumley is the second East Texan in the 2014 football class to receive an offer from New Mexico State. The Aggies have also offered Elkhart running back Jeffery Wilson, who has additional offers from North Texas and ULM.
