The 12th offer rolled in Wednesday evening for Newton junior Kevin Shorter.

The 6-foot, 188-pound athlete was offered by UCLA, according to his Twitter account. The UCLA offer joins an LSU offer that Shorter received during a junior day visit this past Friday in Baton Rouge, La.

Shorter's complete FBS offer list is as follows: Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Houston, Kansas, LSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, ULM, and Utah.

Shorter caught the eyes of recruiters thanks to his huge junior season. He led Newton, which finished 13-1 with a Class 2A Division I state semifinal appearance, with 1,810 yards and 31 touchdowns on 151 carries, averaging 12.0 yards per carry. He also caught 15 passes for 315 yards — 21.0 yards per catch — and four touchdowns. Defensively, he had 58 tackles and three interceptions playing safety.

Shorter’s big junior season led to his ETSN.fm Football Super Team First Team selection. Shorter's dozen offers put him second among East Texans in the 2014 class behind 6-foot, 160-pound Mount Pleasant receiver K.D. Cannon, who has 15 offers: Arizona, Baylor, Clemson, Florida State, Houston, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, West Virginia.
