CARTHAGE – Gunner Capps passed for three touchdowns, and Mason Courtney ran for two, leading No. 1 Carthage to a 40-9 win over Palestine on Friday night.

Carthage (8-0, 3-0 in District 10-4A Division I), the two-time defending state champion, has now won 33 consecutive games.

Palestine’s only touchdown came courtesy of a 25-yard pass from Christian Hutchinson to Gary Reeves in the first half.

Both teams return to action next Friday night. Palestine (2-6, 0-3) travels to Kilgore, while Carthage plays at Henderson.
