JASPER – Top-ranked Carthage held a slim 6-3 lead over Huffman Hargrave after the first quarter on Thursday night.

Flash forward 12 minutes and the Bulldogs took a 32-3 into the locker room over the Falcons.

That big quarter spelled Carthage to a 46-10 win over Hargrave in their Class 4A Division I Region III bi-district playoff at Jasper ISD's Bulldog Stadium.

Carthage (11-0) finished with four rushing touchdowns, two passing scores and Jacorey Ware took one of his four interceptions to the end zone in the win.

The Bulldogs will face either Brazosport or Houston Worthing next week in the area round.

Keaontay Ingram had scoring runs of 1, 2 and 28 yards to lead the Bulldogs' ground attack. The University of Texas commit totaled 147 yards on the night. Mehki Colbert added Carthage’s fourth scoring scamper on a 31-yard touchdown run.

Gunner Capps connected with speedy wideout Dee Bowens twice on touchdown passes of 17 and 11 yards. Capps finished with 189 passing yards on the night. Bowens accounted for 83 yards of that total.

Hargrave got on the board with a field goal in the first quarter and added its lone trip to the end zone in the third quarter.
