CONROE -- The top-ranked Navsota Rattlers scored 21 consecutive points in the first six minutes of the third quarter to create separation in a 49-28 win over Chapel Hill in their Class 4A Division I Region III area-round playoff Friday night at Moorhead Stadium.

Navasota (12-0) will face El Campo (11-1) in the regional semifinals next week, while Chapel Hill ended its season at 6-6.

Trailing 21-14 at halftime, the Rattlers quickly raced ahead by two touchdowns. Shelton Eppler fired a 32-yard touchdown to Sammy Blair, and connected with standout receiver and Baylor commit Tren'Davian Dickson for scores of 18 and 59 yards, which gave Navasota a 35-21 lead with 5:51 to play in the third.

Chapel Hill responded with an 8-yard touchdown pass from Konnor Hitchock to Zack Walters, but Navasota put the game out of reach with back-to-back touchdowns -- a 35-yard pass to Davon Jernigan and a 1-yard run from Jernigan.

Eppler finished the night 21 of 37 for 474 yards with six touchdowns and one interception. Dickson had five catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns, while Blair and Jernigan had two scoring receptions apiece.

Michael Bledose paced Chapel Hill's offense with 158 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. Hitchock passed for 109 yards and three touchdowns, all to Walters, who finished with five receptions for 90 yards.
