ARP -- The District 18-2A champion Sabine Lady Cardinals finished off a perfect district season with a 25-12, 25-21, 25-21 sweep of the Arp Lady Tigers on Tuesday.

"Going into the playoffs on a high note is exactly what we needed," Sabine coach Ricky Hammontree said.

The No. 12 Lady Cardinals (36-5, 14-0) were led by junior middle blocker Haley Stuart and senior twins Kylie and Jordan Baker.

Jordan Baker finished with 11 assists, 10 digs, six kills, three aces and one block, while Kylie contributed 16 digs, nine kills, one block and one assist. Stuart added seven kills, four blocks and an ace.

"Those girls (Stuart and the Baker twins) can be so good, sometimes I just sit back and watch," Hammontree said. "I remember seeing the Baker twins in eighth grade and Haley in seventh grade and thinking 2012 could be a special season."

Also filling the stat line for Sabine was junior setter Emily Ivins, who had 11 assists to go along with four aces.

The Arp Lady Tigers, who celebrated Senior night, were led by outside hitter Lauren Littlefield, who had nine kills, three blocks and three digs. Rebecca Daniels kicked in 14 digs and five assists and freshman Tinikia Lacy finished with five kills, two blocks and an assist. Sheyenne Atchley contributed 13 digs and two assists as well.

"You have to give Arp credit; they're a scrappy team and they fought until the last point," Hammontree said.

Sabine will face Redwater in a warm-up match at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Sabine High school.
