No. 18 Athens Continues to Roll With 68-52 Win At Lindale

LINDALE -- The 18th-ranked Athens Hornets continued its impressive start to the season with a 68-52 win over Lindale on Monday night.

Anthony Sanders scored 25 points to lead the Hornets (17-1), who begin District 15-3A play Friday night at home against Mabank. Ryan Jefferson added 23 points, Courtland Lyons added 14 points and six assists, Josh Garrett had two points and 10 rebounds and Chris Jefferson finished with three points and five steals.

Lindale became the sixth Class 4A team 3A-Athens has defeated this season.

Jordan Gray led Lindale with 17 points, while Tavon Griffin added 10 in the losing effort.

Lindale's season resumes Friday at home against Jacksonville in the District 16-4A opener.
