TATUM -- The first quarter was all No. 20 Tatum needed to build a healthy lead against visiting White Oak.

Tatum led by 18 points entering the second quarter thanks to a 22-2 first-quarter run as the Lady Eagles cruised to a 74-49 victory in Friday's District 17-2A matchup at Eagle Coliseum.

Tatum's win and New Diana's 42-41 victory at Elysian Fields secured the 17-2A championship for Tatum (28-2, 13-0).

Tatum's Kiana Turner scored a game-high 32 points, 22 of which came in the second half. Alexes Bell scored 17 points and Sydni Centers added 11.

Makenzie Goll's 15 points led White Oak (19-8, 9-3), which got 11 points from Whitney Simmons and 10 from Dorothy Swanson.

White Oak led 8-6 early, but Tatum staged a 22-2 run to close the first quarter for a 28-10 lead entering the second. White Oak stayed in the game, though, trailing 42-25 at halftime and 59-40 through three periods before the Lady Eagles pulled away for the 25-point victory. Tatum outscored White Oak 43-19 in the first and fourth quarters.
