MESQUITE -- North Mesquite took advantage of five Tyler Lee turnovers -- four in the first half -- to hand the Red Raiders their second District 12-5A loss in as many games, 27-7, on Friday night Mesquite Memorial Stadium.

Four different players scored for North Mesquite, which erupted for 20 points in the second quarter.

After Cody Williams scored on a 1-yard run in the first, Ta'Varius Luke put the Stallions up 13-0 on a 21-yard touchdown.

Thomas Oberg returned a Raleigh Poster interception 24 yards for a touchdown and Kayeon Brown caught a 23-yard touchdown pass from Williams to put North Mesquite up 27-0 at halftime.

Tyler Lee's only score came on a 17-yard touchdown run by LeTerrence Simmons in the third. Lee managed only 281 yards of total offense in the loss.

Simmons led Lee on the ground with 95 yards on 12 carries. Star running back LaQuintas Wallace was held to just 30 yards on nine attempts.

Poster finished 11 of 25 passing for 100 yards with two interceptions. The Red Raiders lost three fumbles in the game.

Lee, now 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in district, is off next week.
