The first offer arrived for one of Whitehouse's talented football players in the 2015 class.

Nate Brooks confirmed with ETSN.fm that he received an offer from North Texas. Whitehouse 2015 safety Justin Dunning tweeted the news before Brooks confirmed the offer.

Brooks started all of the 2012 season at cornerback for the Wildcats. He recorded 42 tackles while finishing third on the time with four interceptions and tying for first on the team with five pass breakups.

Brooks is the ninth player in the East Texas 2015 football class to receive a Division I FBS offer. Six of those nine could potentially play in the secondary in college.

The 6-foot, 150-pound Brooks will be 1 of 3 returning starters in Whitehouse's secondary. He joins Dunning, who holds five FBS offers, and 2014 cornerback Isaiah Burton in the Wildcats' defensive backfield. The only graduating secondary starter is safety Colby Campbell, a Lamar signee.

Along with the return of those three defensive backs, Whitehouse's back seven should be strong in 2013. Middle linebacker Reggie Long, who finished second to Campbell in tackles, 2014 linebacker/safety Chris Reese, and 2015 linebacker Dominique Hollie are all back for new head coach Adam Cook.
