Chapel Hill 2016 lineman Jeremy West has received his fourth Division I scholarship opportunity. The Bulldogs' incoming senior announced an offer from Northwestern State via his Twitter account on Wednesday evening.

West (6-3, 297) added the Demons to an offer sheet that also includes fellow FCS programs Alcorn State and SFA, and the FBS-level Louisiana-Lafayette.

The Chapel Hill standout, who has interest from FBS high-majors on the defensive line, told ETSN.fm that Northwestern State is recruiting him for the offensive side of the ball.

The Demons, members of the Southland Conference, are no strangers to the East Texas area, having landed a handful of regional recruits in recent years. Northwestern State signed Van linebacker Brice Borgeson, Kilgore offensive lineman Jonathan Hubbard, and John Tyler defensive back Isaac Warren in February.

Northwestern State's roster also includes three former East Texas stars -- safety Desmond Lacey (West Sabine), linebacker Jacob Merriman (Lindale), and offensive lineman Clay Wiley (Kilgore).

The Demons are coached by Jay Thomas, and are coming off a 6-6 season, which included a 4-4 mark in conference play.

West has had an eventful offseason. In addition to picking up his first three offers in late May, he also competed at the third annual ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine in Tyler on May 10, where he came away with O-line MVP honors.

He put up 15 bench press reps at 225 pounds, second-most among his positional group, and held his own during a supremely competitive one-on-one session against some of the area’s top pass rushers.

Last season, West was an anchor on a Chapel Hill offensive line that paved the way for a scoring average of 38.5 points and a team average of 438.5 yards per game. The Bulldogs were 6-6 last season, falling to eventual Class 4A Division I state champion Navasota in the area round of the playoffs.

West will be the only returning starter on Chapel Hill's O-line this fall, but the rest of the Bulldogs' offense brings back plenty of firepower. Chapel Hill opens the season Aug. 28 at home against Lindale.

West, like all 2016 football prospects, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him on Feb. 3.
