Oklahoma State Offers Whitehouse’s Justin Dunning

The sixth BCS conference offer arrived Friday afternoon for Whitehouse's Justin Dunning.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound safety tweeted that he received an offer from Oklahoma State, which is the fifth Big 12 Conference school to offer the 2015 prospect.

Dunning now holds offers from Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. Along with Sulphur Springs 2015 safety Larry Pryor and Gilmer 2015 athlete Kris Boyd, Dunning camped at Alabama earlier this week. Pryor and Dunning are the first two East Texas players in the 2015 class to receive Oklahoma State offers.

Dunning accumulated 61 tackles, five interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and five pass breakups in 2012, helping the Wildcats to a 10-2 record and Class 4A Division II Region II second-round playoff appearance. Dunning was selected to the ETSN.fm Football Super Team Second Team for his performance.

Safety is where most schools see Dunning playing at the next level, though is frame and athleticism suggest he could move to the offensive side of the ball.

Dunning measured 6-foot-5 1/2 and 200 pounds in shoes at the May 19 ETSN.fm Football Recruiting Combine at APEC training facility, where he won the defensive backs MVP. Dunning had the combine’s best vertical jump (40.4 inches), the third-best broad jump (10 feet, 4 inches), and the third-best 40-yard dash (4.41 seconds) of the 100 athletes at the event.
