Ole Miss Offers Gladewater’s Daylon Mack

The 14th offer arrived Sunday evening for Gladewater standout Daylon Mack.

The junior defensive tackle told ETSN.fm at 9:01 p.m. Sunday that the Rebels offered him.

Ole Miss joins the following schools on Mack's offer list: Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. He holds the most offers among the 11 East Texas players in the 2015 class who already have at least one Division I FBS offer.

THe 6-foot-1, 311-pounder attended LSU's 37-27 win against TCU on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington following Gladewater's 16-14 Friday night home win vs. Daingerfield. Mack provided the game-winning two points -- a safety with 18 seconds remaining -- to push the Bears to 1-0 on the young season.

LSU and Texas A&M are considered leaders in Mack's recruitment, although he's understandably opted to slow down the process in recent weeks. Mack had six tackles, two for loss (including the safety), and a punt block in Gladewater's season-opening victory.

ETSN.fm named Mack its Preseason Defensive Player of the Year on the ETSN.fm 2013 Preseason East Texas Super Team. He had 62 tackles, 16 for loss, six sacks, and six fumble recoveries during a breakout sophomore season a year ago.
