WHITEHOUSE -- Patrick Mahomes threw for 346 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 121 yards and two touchdowns as the No. 3 Whitehouse Wildcats steamrolled the Jacksonville Indians, 70-21, in District 16-4A action at Wildcat Stadium.

Mahomes threw both of his touchdowns and ran for a third in the second quarter as the Wildcats (7-0, 2-0) broke an early tie by scoring 56 consecutive points on a streak that lasted until Indians quarterback Carter McCown scored on a 6-yard run with 58 seconds remaining in the third.

Wildcats running back Shemar Smith led all rushers with 131 yards and two touchdowns, and Isiah Burton returned a McCown interception 60 yards.

Whitehouse's Jake Parker caught five passes for 153 yards, and Coleman Patterson added another five catches for 110 yards. Jaylon Dews and Ryan Cheatham each added touchdown catches for Whitehouse.

McCown, who was unable to finish last week’s game against Nacogdoches, completed 16 of 31 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown and ran for another two.

Indians receiver Tony Lane hauled in six passes for 107 yards, followed by Trent Sansom with six catches for 53 yards. Claude Franklin caught three passes for 19 yards, including McCown’s only touchdown pass. Franklin’s touchdown, which came on the heels of the first of a pair of Mahomes interceptions, briefly handed Jacksonville a 7-0 lead.

Whitehouse responded on the next play from scrimmage when Vincent Dunning broke a 55-yard touchdown run and the Wildcats led 35-7 at the half.

Jacksonville (0-7) is at home against John Tyler on Friday, while Whitehouse is at Nacogdoches.
