BROWNSBORO -- Peter Maddox hit Layton Myers for two long touchdown strikes early Friday night in Van's 40-12 District 15-3A victory at Brownsboro.

Maddox delivered touchdown passes of 65 and 75 yards to Myers for a 14-0 lead in the game's first 10 minutes. That set the tone for the evening, which ended with Maddox having completed 15 of 19 passes for 336 yards and the two scores, plus an 11-yard touchdown run that gave the Vandals a 27-6 advantage a minute into the second half.

Myers caught six passes for 199 yards, while Kendrick Jones snagged six passes for 63 yards.

Van's Deundre Johnson ran 18 times for 102 yards and two touchdowns, both of which came in the third quarter as Van built a 40-6 lead. Matt Savis scored on a two-yard run late in the first half that gave Van a 21-6 halftime edge.

Van (2-6, 2-1) totaled 482 yards of offense and limited Brownsboro (2-6, 0-3) to 197.

Brownsboro quarterback Jared Bragdon completed 6 of 10 passes for 63 yards and an interception. Teammate Quintus Lee for a 22-yard second-quarter touchdown and scored the game's final touchdown on a 92-yard kickoff return at the end of the third.

Brownsboro hosts Canton (3-4, 2-1) next week. Van hosts Mabank (2-6, 1-2).
