LONGVIEW -- Pine Tree completed its unbeaten run through the Class 5A-heavy Lady Lobo Chick-Fil-A Tournament with Saturday's 2-1 championship win over host Longview.

Pine Tree's Victoria Flores scored from 40 yards out on a misplay at the net for the game-winning goal with 11 minutes remaining. The win pushed Pine Tree's record to 7-0-1. The Lady Pirates beat Plano, Lufkin, Tyler Lee, and Longview in the tournament.

Seniors Amanda Wallin and Amanda Cabrera were named tournament co-Most Valuable Players.

Longview had tied the match with 20 minutes remaining after Pine Tree led 1-0 at halftime thanks to Erin Bailey's goal off an Amanda Wallin assist. Bailey, a freshman, scored the contest's first goal off Wallin's counter-attack through ball.

Longview gained a 6-4 shots-on-goal advantage.

The point standings that determined the final tally had PT first, Plano second, Longview third, Tyler Lee fourth, Lufkin fifth, and Whitehouse sixth.

We win the tournament with 4-0 record against 5A teams. Totaled 36 points. Plano was 2nd Longview 3rd, Tyler Lee 4th, Lufkin 5th, Whitehouse 6th.

Pine Tree hosts Tyler Lee at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Longview Boys Win Three at Lufkin Showcase

LUFKIN -- Longview recorded three victories over the weekend at the Lufkin Showcase.

The Lobos beat Nacogdoches 1-0, Tomball 4-0, and Beaumont West Brook 4-1.
