Pine Tree Girls Blank Tyler Lee, 2-0, in Soccer Action

LONGVIEW -- Amanda Cabrera and Amanda Wallin each had goals to lead Pine Tree to a 2-0 win over Tyler Lee on Wednesday, the Lady Pirates' seventh shutout of the season.

The first goal came with five minutes remaining in the first half when Cabrera notched her sixth goal of the year off an assist from Wallin.

Pine Tree (8-0-1) put the game away with eight minutes remaining when Wallin broke free and scored an unassisted goal, her team-leading ninth of the season.

Brittany Hollis and Kaiti Lawrence split goalkeeping duties, combining on the shutout.

The Pine Tree JV also won its match, 2-0, over Tyler Lee.

The Lady Pirates are back in action Friday at Forney. The junior varsity match begins at 5 p.m. with the varsity following at 6:30 p.m.
