LONGVIEW -- The Pine Tree Lady Pirates improved to 4-0 with their fourth consecutive shutout to begin the season -- a 2-0 win over Mount Pleasant on Tuesday at Pirate Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, it didn't take long for Pine Tree to take the lead. Less than two minutes into the second, Lilly Cabrera took a free kick from about 35 yards out and scored to give the Lady Pirates a 1-0 advantage.

The Lady Pirates played add-on three minutes later when Ana Solis found the net off an assist from Cabera.

Pine Tree outshot Mount Pleasant in the match 8-3, while Shayna Felker and Nikki Camp combined on the shutout in net.

Lady Pirates coach Daniel Rich praised the efforts of midfielders Kalynn Hudman and Victoria Flores.

Pine Tree continues its season Monday at Mabank.
