ETSN.fm learned Sunday evening that Pine Tree senior catcher Blake Adams committed to Navarro College to continue his baseball career.

Adams was one of Pine Tree's best players in the spring of 2013, when the Pirates finished 22-15 and reached the second round of the Class 4A Region II playoffs.

He was 1 of 5 Pirates to hit higher than .300, finishing his junior campaign with a .357 average, plus two home runs and 33 RBIs, both of which ranked second on the team.

Adams garnered a team-best 24 walks to register a .496 on-base percentage. In the field, Adams committed only four errors in a team-high 212 chances for a .981 fielding percentage.

Adams also served as one of Pine Tree's top pitchers. He finished his junior season with a team-best 2.75 earned run average and 5-3 record, which gave him the second-most pitching victories on the team. Adams struck out 32 batters and walked only seven in 28 innings, which included one complete game in four starts and five relief appearances.
