It was a big day for Gary Wiley Jr.

Wiley, a defensive end and outside linebacker for Pine Tree, picked up his first Division I scholarship offer Thursday. He posted to Twitter to announce Missouri State had extended him the opportunity.

Through five games, Wiley has 40 tackles, six for loss, four sacks, four quarterback hurries and a force fumble.

He already has more sacks, quarterback hurries and tackles for loss than he did last season. He is also on pace to earn more tackles. He had 64 last year.

Missouri State is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference, which competes in FCS. The Bears are 1-4 so far this season.

Wiley, like all players in their senior year of high school, is first eligible to sign with any Division I program that offers him in December.
