Plano Scores 6-0 Win Over Longview in Game 1 Of Class 5A Area Playoff Series

PLANO -- Ryan Thomas pitched a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts, leading Plano to a 6-0 win over Longview on Friday in Game 1 of their Class 5A Region II area playoff best-of-three series.

The series resumes with Game 2 at 1 p.m. Saturday from Longview's Lobo Field. If a third game is necessary, it will follow.

Mitchell Hansen went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Plano at the plate.

Spencer Barton and Reid Russell collected the hits for Longview. Barton suffered the loss, allowing six runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts in six innings.
