TEXARKANA -- Pleasant Grove outscored Pine Tree by 13 points in the third quarter to pull away for a 62-46 win Thursday evening at Hawk Gym.

The win was Pleasant Grove's second over the Pirates in less than a week. The Hawks beat PT 54-37 last week in the East Texas Playoff Preview at LeTourneau University in Longview.

Cory Menah's 19 points led Pleasant Grove, which got nine points from Kieran Johnson and eight points from Peter Gavriel. Ryan Martin netted seven points.

A 23-10 third-quarter run pushed Pleasant Grove's lead to 23 points entering the fourth quarter. The win pushed Pleasant Grove to 11-7, while Pine Tree fell to 2-17.

Caleb Chumley led Pine Tree with 14 points. Blake Adams followed with 12 points, while Dalvin Manns had seven and Robert Hines had six.

Pleasant Grove, which led 17-12 after one quarter, took a 33-23 to halftime before the aforementioned 23-10 third-quarter spurt gave the Hawks full control of the contest.
