In March 2010, Pine Tree ISD passed a $29.9 million bond that included a new football stadium and improvements for technology, career/co-curricular facilities, and infrastructure renovations.

While some of the projects have already been completed, the football stadium has not. Over the last several weeks, action has picked up at the new stadium's location, which is near Pine Tree Intermediate School off W. Loop 281, according to Pine Tree athletic director and head football coach Derek Fitzhenry. Construction crews recently broke ground on the new facility, which is expected to be open for the 2013 football season.

“Not only will football have a stadium at the complex," Fitzhenry said, "we will also have a state-of-the-art track facility that will allow us to hold two of the same field events at the same time.”

The stadium, which costs $17.4 million dollars, will seat an estimated 6,400 people, roughly a 1,000 more than existing Pine Tree Stadium will hold. The facility will have a single-level press box that will include a conference room, announcer room, scouting room, media area, visiting coaches box, scorekeeper room, television/radio room, storage, and restrooms.

The new stadium will host playoff games as well as being more adequate to hold events such as graduation and homecoming.
