Quinton King’s Fourth-Quarter Touchdown Lifts Winnsboro Over Eustace, 21-14
WINNSBORO -- Sheyan Thompson's 21-yard fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Quinton King broke a tie and lifted Winnsboro to a 21-14 win against Eustace on Friday night in District 7-2A Division I action.
The touchdown strike was the game's only pass completion as Winnsboro (5-2, 3-0) completed 1 of 4 attempts and Eustace (3-5, 1-3) finished 0-for-2.
Thompson led Winnsboro with 63 yards on 14 carries, while Tedrick Shepherd carried 15 times for 55 yards. Will Villalobos had eight carries for 46 yards and a touchdown. David Santoy gained 41 yards on six attempts.
Eustace outgained Winnsboro 250-234, but couldn't pull ahead after Jesus Barcenas' three-yard third-quarter touchdown run tied the game 14-14.
Barcenas ran for a game-high 104 yards on 20 carries, while teammate Keenan Hargest ran 22 times for 92 yards, including a four-yard second-quarter touchdown run that tied the game 7-7. Ryan Brown gained 51 yards on six carries.
