PARIS – The Pleasant Grove Hawks began their Class 4A Division II title defense with a 30-10 win over Paris on Friday night.

The Hawks (1-0) scored 20 unanswered points in the second half, breaking the halftime tie.

Bruce Garrett led Pleasant Grove on the night with 103 yards on 18 rushing attempts. Nick Martin, Ben Harmon, and James Wiggins added short touchdown runs as well.

Pleasant Grove also forced four Paris turnovers, scoring on one as Kameron Woods jumped on a fumble in the end zone late in the third quarter.

The Hawks’ season continues next Friday night at home against Henderson.
