Nacogdoches 2016 safety Brandon Jones is beginning to attract attention from the very best college football has to offer. And after Tuesday night, that now includes the reigning BCS national champions.

Jones (6-0, 190) announced on Twitter that he received an offer from Florida State, making the Seminoles the Dragons standout's fifth FBS offer, joining Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.

Florida State has made its presence in East Texas known of late, with four offers out to area prospects. Other players from the region with FSU offers are Gladewater 2015 defensive tackle and Texas A&M commit Daylon Mack, Whitehouse 2015 safety and Texas A&M pledge Justin Dunning and Gilmer 2015 running back/cornerback Kris Boyd.

Jones enjoyed breakout success as a sophomore in 2013, helping lead Nacogdoches to its first playoff berth since 2006. He finished with 95 tackles, five interceptions, one defensive touchdown and two punt returns for touchdowns.

Nacogdoches could boast one of the top secondaries in all of East Texas in the fall with Jones and the addition of 2015 recruit Jaylon Lane, a cornerback who transferred in from San Angelo Central. Lane (6-2, 175) had 46 tackles and four interceptions last season. Both could also be lethal in the return game as Lane averaged 45.8 on five kickoff returns, which included one from 108 yards.
