Ryan Cheatham Strikes Out 14 in Second-Ranked Whitehouse’s Season-Opening Win

WHITEHOUSE -- The Whitehouse Wildcats, ranked No. 2 in the txhighschoolbaseball.com preseason Class 4A poll, took a 3-2 win over Tyler Grace in Whitehouse's season opener Monday night.

Senior pitcher Ryan Cheatham struck out 14 and allowed two hits in six innings for the win. Peyton Conser came on in the seventh to record the save.

Whitehouse (1-0) stranded eight runners on the night.

The Wildcats are back in action this weekend at the Forney Tournament. Whitehouse plays Dallas Christian at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
