LIBERTY CITY -- No. 4 West Rusk suffered its first loss of the season Friday night, falling 23-7 to Sabine.

Landon McKinney finished with all three of the Cardinals' touchdowns -- two on the ground and one through the air -- in the upset.

His first touchdown came four minutes in, when he ran for a 2-yard score. Diego Molina recovered a fumble to score later in the first, but that would be the last touchdown for West Rusk.

Sabine held West Rusk to 113 yards all game. McKinney's second touchdown, a 7-yard run, put the Cardinals up for good. He finished with 242 total yards (98 rushing and 144 passing).

West Rusk hosts Tatum at 7:30 p.m. Friday, while Sabine goes on the road against Mineola. The Raiders drop to 7-1 and 3-1 in Dsitrict 8-3A Division I while Sabine improved to 5-2 and 2-1.
