LONGVIEW -- The Longview Lobos scored a 5-1 win over Tyler Lee on Saturday afternoon at Lobo Field in a key District 12-5A contest.

Will Bradshaw got the win, allowing a run on just two hits in 6 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts and three walks. He also was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs as Longview improved to 10-12 overall and 3-2 in district.

Jared Pauley had two hits with an RBI and a run scored, while Dez Chumley had one hit and two RBIs for Longview.

Garrett Hudson was responsible for the only RBI for the Red Raiders (2-3 in district), while Chandler Hill went 2-for-3 in defeat.

Longview returns to action Friday at Rockwall, while Tyler Lee plays host to Rockwall-Heath also on Friday.

 

Bullard Brook Hill Rips McKinney Christian

McKINNEY -- The Bullard Brook Hill Guard remained unbeaten with a 15-5 rout of McKinney Christian on Saturday in TAPPS District 4-3A action.

Clayton Engel picked up the win on the mound. He struck out 13, walked three and allowed one earned run in 5 1/3 innings. Engel was also 1-for-2 with a double and three walks at the plate for Brook Hill (10-6, 2-0).

Blake Maddox homered, doubled twice and had four RBIs, while Jonah Gonzales went 3-for-5 with a homer and three RBIs. Ryan Cox added two hits, which included a double, in the winning effort.

Brook Hill hosts Dallas Lutheran on Friday.

Elysian Fields Routs Union Grove

ELYSIAN FIELDS -- The Elysian Fields Lady Jackets kept up their winning ways with a 12-2 defeat of Union Grove in District 17-2A play Saturday.

Jacey Doyle and Devin Gonzalez each led the Elysian Fields (12-10, 6-1) attack with home runs. Kaycee Bailey was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Jane Harris had two hits and an RBI, Montanna Methvin was 2-for-4 with a double, Bailee Fry and Madison Spears were each 2-for-4 and Sarah Findley doubled.

The pitching combination of Keely Howard and Harris combined 10 strikeouts for the game.

Elysian Fields' season resumes Tuesday at Jefferson.

 

Brook Hill Crushes McKinney Christian

McKINNEY -- Two pitchers combined for a three-inning no-hitter in the Bullard Brook Hill Lady Guard's 15-0 win over McKinney Christian in TAPPS District 4-3A action Saturday.

Lexi Crenshaw and Brianna Young teamed up to stifle McKinney Christian, striking out eight while walking two. Crenshaw shut down McKinney Christian while she was in the circle, holding McKinney Christian hitless over two innings, allowing no earned runs with six strikeouts and two walks.

Crenshaw showed her talents on both sides of the diamond with a strong game on the rubber and at the plate. She racked up three RBIs on two hits for Brook Hill, singling and tripling in the first inning.

An RBI single by Crenshaw, an RBI single by Taylor Schultz, an error, a two-run single by Morgan Moss, an error, a groundout by Ivy Sudduth, a two-run triple by Crenshaw, an RBI double by Taylor, and an RBI double by Morgan Magourick in the first inning and an error during the second inning helped Brook Hill put some runs on the board early.

Brook Hill piled on three more runs in the top of the third. A ground out to score Schultz opened the scoring in the frame.

The Lady Guard continue their season Tuesday at home against Tyler East Texas Christian.
