FORNEY -- The second-ranked Whitehouse Wildcats capped a perfect 4-0 weekend at the Forney Tournament with a pair of wins Saturday -- defeating Texas High 4-3 and Forney by the score of 10-4.

In the win over Texas High, Jake Parker got the win on the mound. He went 5 1/3 innings and allowed three runs on five hits with three strikeouts. Peyton Conser got the save, working 1 2/3 hitless innings with a pair of strikeouts.

Ryan Cheatham had two RBIs, Patrick Mahomes was 2-for-3 with a double and Eric Munoz had a hit, walked three times and scored twice.

Cheatham had a hand both on the mound and at the plate in Whitehouse's defeat of Forney. He improved to 2-0, by allowing one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in five innings, and went 2-for-4 with three RBIs offensively.

Munoz was 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs scored, Mahomes doubled twice, knocked in a run and scored three times, Parker was 2-for-4 with a triple and RBI and Nate Brooks collected two hits as well.

Carthage Blanks Longview

LONGVIEW -- The Carthage Bulldogs cruised to an 8-0 win over Longview on Satruday as part of the Oil Belt Classic.

William Rittenberry went the distance, allowing four hits with nine strikeouts and two walks in seven dominating innings. Blake Bogenschutz, Jared Blissett, Tyler Musgrove, Tyler Killen, Jack Morris and Mrah Templeton all had two hits for Carthage, while Templeton led the team with two RBIs.

Sam Scarborough went 2-for-3 to lead Longview (6-7) in defeat.

Center Edges Pleasant Grove in Kilgore

KILGORE -- The Center Roughriders scored a 2-1 win over Kilgore on Saturday at the Oil Belt Classic at Driller Park.

Dalton Horton earned the complete-game win, allowing one unearned run on three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.

Horton, Josh Burns and Ross Mahan had two hits apiece for the Roughriders (8-3).

Chapel Hill Drops Close One to New Diana

ARP -- The New Diana Eagles scored a 4-3 win over Chapel Hill on Saturday at the Arp Tournament.

Skylar Simpson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead New Diana offensively, while pitching four innings and allowing two runs on nine hits with four strikeouts on the mound.

Chapel Hill (8-3) outhit New Diana 11-5 for the game. Zack Walters and Andrew Black each went 3-for-4, while Phillip Day collected two hits in defeat. Braden Nelson got the start and allowed two unearned runs on four hits with four strikeouts in five innings. Pat Day went two innings, surrendering two runs on one hit with two strikeouts and three walks.

Carlisle Picks Up Win Over Winona

ARP -- The Carlisle Indians scored a 5-2 win over Winona on Saturday at the Arp Tournament.

Ben Goss had two RBIs and two stolen bases to lead the way, while Zach Brightwell, Kolton Heim and Collin Gray all knocked in a run for Carlisle (4-3).

Goss went all five innings on the mound. He allowed two unearned runs on two hits with four strikeouts and four walks.

Carlisle begins District 20-A play Tuesday at home against Union Hill.

Brook Hill Wins Twice in Arp

ARP -- The Bullard Brook Hill Guard won twice Saturday at the Arp Tournament, defeating Class 2A's fourth-ranked Danbury 2-1 and Wills Point by the score of 5-4.

McCray Fletcher's walk-off single led Brook Hill past Danbury, while Daniel Priddy earned a complete-game win on the mound, allowing one run with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Carthage Takes Two Wins in Hallsville

HALLSVILLE -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs finished up play at the Hallsville Tournament with a couple of impressive victories Saturday, defeating Van 3-0 and Rusk by the score of 2-1.

In the shutout of Van, Samantha Clakley got the complete-game win, allowing just one hit with 12 strikeouts and two walks. Kacey Maines doubled and had two RBIs, Brooklyn Peace was 2-for-3 and Jordyn Morgan had a hit and drove in one.

Clakley was on top of her game again vs. Rusk. In another complete-game effort, she surrendered no earned runs on three hits with 12 strikeouts. Clakley and Morgan Alexander had the RBIs, while Kyrstin Martin, Nykedra Williams and Ashleigh Edge had two hits apiece.
