MOUNT ENTERPRISE -- The fifth-ranked Laneville Yellow Jackets captured the Mount Enterprise Tournament championship with a 79-47 rout of Kilgore on Saturday.

Donta Harris led Laneville (8-0) with 32 points and six rebounds. Ty Johnson added 19 points, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks, Tra Alexander had 14 points, seven boards, three assists, four steals and two blocks and Tiarel Franklin finished with eight points, eight assists and four steals.

Laneville continues its season Tuesday at home against San Augustine, which is ranked No. 10 in Class A Division I by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

Silsbee Edges Marshall in Huntington Tourney Final

HUNTINGTON -- Silsbee, ranked No. 14 in 3A by the TABC, handed Marshall its first loss of the season with an 88-87 win Saturday in the championship game of the Huntington Tournament.

Marshall (9-1) was led in defeat by Tiandre Jackson-Young, who finished with 27 points. Chris Brown added 16 points and 17 assists and Shimar Jones chipped in with 14 points.

The Mavericks defeated Jasper 77-34 earlier in the day. Jackson-Young led the way with 13 points. T.J. Maxfield added 11 points, Jones had 10 and Brown dished out 15 assists.

Marshall plays at Kilgore on Tuesday.

GIRLS

No. 21 Winona Stays Unbeaten

WINONA -- The No. 21 Winona Lady Wildcats improved to 11-0 on the season with a 59-47 win over John Tyler's JV on Saturday at the Winona Tournament.

Jamece Gulley paced Winona with 25 points, five rebounds and six steals. Kawaii Gordon added 21 points, 11 boards and four steals, while Shay Virgil chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Winona opens District 18-2A play Tuesday at home against Troup.
