ELYSIAN FIELDS -- Elysian Fields wrapped up second place in its district with a 10-0 five-inning home win Saturday against Union Grove.

Jane Harris improved to 11-6 in the circle, allowing one hit with four strikeouts in three innings. Keely Howard yielded one hit and struck out three in two relief innings. Harris singled and drove one run at the plate.

Elysian Fields' Jacey Doyle was 3-for-3 with two double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Kaycee Bailey went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one run, while Kaylee Prather was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.

Devin Gonzalez tripled once and scored three times. Montanna Methvin had a single, an RBI, and one run. Maddy Spears singled once and scored once.

Union Grove's Katie Davidson and Whitley Hammett had one hit apiece. Davidson allowed eight runs on eight hits in three innings in the circle. Kassidy Kruse allowed two runs on three hits with two strikeouts in one relief inning.

No. 25 Winnsboro Grabs 14-2A's Final Playoff Spot

MINEOLA -- Brenda Jongsma got her 15th win of the season, allowing only one run on three hits to lead Winnsboro to a 10-1 victory against Grand Saline to claim District 14-2A's final playoff spot.

Jongsma went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Victoria Jones was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Madison Gillean was 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Winnsboro's Kim Jongsma, Danielle Gregory and Kasey Thomas each had an RBI and a run scored.

Winnsboro (18-8-1) plays Malakoff in the first round.

Wertz + Murphy Power Hughes Springs

HUGHES SPRINGS -- Catie Wertz and Cheyenne Murphy hit one home run apiece to lead Hughes Springs to a 7-0 shutout of New Boston on Saturday.

Wertz and Murphy each had two RBIs. Kaitlyn Morris threw a two-hit shutout for the win, which pushed the Lady Mustangs to 22-12 overall and 11-3 in District 16-2A. Hughes Springs enters the postseason as the No. 3 seed from 16-2A and plays Paris Chisum in the first round.

Hughes Springs' Siera Baird (one RBI) and Emily Meade each had two hits. New Boston's Heather Simmons and Megan Eubanks had one single apiece.
