TYLER -- The Beckville Ladycats rolled to three wins and the championship bracket title of the Tyler Tournament on Saturday.

Beckville (14-0) swept matches from Whitehouse (25-20, 25-22), Rusk (25-10, 25-16), and Hallsville (25-19, 25-21).

The Ladycats were led on the day by Hannah Humphries, who recorded 29 kills and seven digs. Payton Jones added 16 kills, two blocks, two aces, and 30 digs, Riley Seegers had 14 kills, four blocks, two aces, an assist, and 17 digs, while Jordan Tondreau totaled seven kills, two blocks, two aces, two assists, and 10 digs.

Miranda Mize added seven kills, two blocks, and eight digs, Kinley Pepper racked up 70 assists to go with six aces, and 17 digs, while Courtlyn Nail chipped in with six aces and 22 digs.

Beckville takes part in a dual-match Tuesday at Sabine High School against Sabine and Gary.

 

Carthage Splits Two Matches in Forney

FORNEY -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs concluded play at the Forney ISD Tournament with a split Saturday.

Carthage (17-7) defeated Irving North Hills Prep, 25-12, 25-9, before falling to Cedar Hill, 15-25, 25-22, 25-23.

In the loss to Cedar Hill, Matti Doffitt led the Lady Dawgs with 13 kills, three aces, and eight digs. Carson Robertson added six kills, nine assists, and nine digs, while Courtney Edge finished with 18 digs.

Carthage has a dual match against Lindale and Quitman in Lindale on Tuesday.

 

Emory Rains Wins Consolation Title in Forney

FORNEY -- The Emory Rains Ladycats earned the consolation championship at the Forney ISD Tournament by going 3-1 on Saturday.

Rains (8-9) fell to Royse City, 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, before earning victories over Kemp (25-12, 25-9), Crandall (25-18, 25-8), and Kaufman (23-25, 25-18, 25-20).

Summer Nerkowski led Rains in its defeat against Royse City with seven kills, an ace, and 12 digs. Shelbi Sheppard added six kills, 11 assists, one ace, and 12 digs, McKenna Hildebrant contributed seven blocks, while Vivian Bradshaw had 10 assists and an ace.

Against Kemp, Sheppard had six kills, 10 assists, three aces, and nine digs. Aubrey Gowin and Chanlee Oakes registered three kills apiece, while Hildebrandt and Kaitlin McIntyre combined for five blocks.

Hildebrandt led in the win over Crandall, finishing with eight kills and seven blocks. Summer Nerkowski added six kills, an ace, and 16 digs, Sheppard had six kills, 13 assists, and an ace, and Bradshaw racked up nine assists.

In the finale over Kaufman, Hildebrandt racked up nine kills and eight blocks, Sheppard had seven kills, 16 assists, an ace, and 13 digs, Bradshaw finished with 12 assists, Presley McAree had two aces and 13 digs, while Nerkowski and Elissa Elliott teamed up for 27 digs.

Rains' season resumes Tuesday at Royse City.
