TYLER -- The Carthage Lady Dogs went 3-0 Saturday to claim the Tyler Invitational championship.

Carthage (18-5) defeated Hallsville 25-21, 10-25, 25-19 and Pine Tree 25-23, 25-20 before taking down Saginaw in the championship match, 25-19, 25-20.

Marisah Ingram and Iesha Bryant combined for 18 kills in the Pine Tree match.

Bryant and Kenzie Tate were selected to the all-tournament team.

Carthage's season resumes Tuesday with a dual match in Longview against Spring Hill and Lindale.

Lindale Captures Consolation Title

The Lindale Lady Eagles went 2-1 on Saturday, winning the Tyler Invitational's championship bracket consolation title.

Lindale (14-1) to Saginaw 25-21, 25-14 before finishing with back-to-back wins over Paris North Lamar (25-16, 25-19) and Hallsville (25-21, 25-23).

In the loss to Saginaw, Rhyan Rand had five kills and three digs, Zhanelle Geathers added five kills and two blocks and Makenna Allen finished with four kills and eight digs.

Allen had five kills, five digs and two aces in Lindale's victory over North Lamar. Rand added five kills and four digs, Geathers produced five kills, four blocks and two digs and Sydney Tiiman provided 23 assists, four kills and four digs.

In the consolation final against Hallsville, Rand led the way with nine kills and four digs. Allen had five kills and nine digs, Geathers added five kills and three blocks, Tiiman dished out 26 assists and Kaitlin Rice chipped in with four kills and six digs.

Geathers was selected to the all-tournament team.

Lindale returns to action Tuesday in Longview with a dual match against Spring Hill and Carthage.

Whitehouse Finishes Second in Gold Bracket

The Whitehouse LadyCats fell to Tyler Lee 25-16, 28-26 in the championship game of the Tyler Invitational's gold bracket.

Ashton Ates and Kelly Keller had four kills apiece for Whitehouse in the losing effort.

Whitehouse won twice earlier in the day, defeating Peaster 25-9, 25-19 and New Diana 25-19, 27-25.

Keller had six kills to lead the way in the win over Peaster. Lindsey Hannah and Ronnie Fountain (13 assists) added four kills apiece, while Megan Harris chipped in with three aces.

In the win over New Diana, Keller and Megan Harris had six kills apiece, Fountain added 20 assists and Hannah finished with three aces.

Whitehouse plays at Gilmer on Tuesday.

Eustace Goes 1-2 on Final Day

The Eustace Lady Bulldogs went 1-2 on the final day of the Tyler Invitational on Saturday, losing to New Diana 25-21, 25-17 and Tyler Lee 25-20, 25-8 before defeating Lufkin 24-26, 25-22, 25-10.

In the loss to New Diana, Caitlyn Culp and Peyton Dibari had three kills apiece. Culp had two kills in the losing effort against Tyler Lee, while Culp and Dibari combined for 11 kills in the victory over Lufkin.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Tuesday at home against Scurry-Rosser to open District 13-2A play.
