KILGORE -- The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes opened District 16-4A play with a five-set victory over Kilgore on Saturday, 25-17, 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Christian Brown led Gilmer with 15 kills, 27 digs, one ace and one block. Destiny Brooks added 14 kills, 19 digs and four aces, Maci Ritter had 17 kills and 10 blocks, and Belynda Ray provided nine kills and a block.

The setting duo of Tanah Seely and Jaci Traylor combined for 51 assists, two kills, two aces and 15 digs, while Michela Devendorf and Sommer Hines teamed up for 42 digs, three kills and an ace.

Gilmer is back in action Tuesday night at home against Spring Hill.

 

Bullard Sweeps Gladewater

GLADEWATER -- The Bullard Lady Panthers opened District 16-4A with a 25-15, 25-19, 25-8 sweep of Gladewater on Saturday.

Mackenzie Fish led Bullard (18-14, 1-0) with eight kills, nine digs and four aces, Rachel Kelley had 11 assists and four aces, McCall Cowart provided five kills, Katie Cole finished with 12 digs and four aces, Ashtyn Zamazal added four kills and two blocks, Kennedy Key had 10 digs, and Mikaela Goode dished out eight assists.

Bullard returns to action Tuesday night at home against Chapel Hill.
