CENTER -- The No. 2 Gilmer Buckeyes rolled to a 56-17 rout of Center on Friday night at Roughrider Stadium.

Gilmer (2-0) senior quarterback Aaron "Poppy" Brown passed for three touchdowns, and Braydon Bates rushed for two more in the lopsided win.

JaMareon Granville was on the receiving end of one of Brown's touchdown tosses, and he added an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Brown's other two scoring passes went to Morgan Lusty and Qua Heath.

Center's two touchdowns were the result of its defense and special teams.

JaTerious Evans returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score, and Marques Hall picked up a Gilmer fumble and raced 70 yards for a touchdown.

Both teams' seasons resume next Friday night. Gilmer plays host to Argyle Liberty Christian, while Center (0-2) entertains Gladewater (0-2).
