NEWTON -- More than half a dozen Eagles got in on the scoring act Friday night as second-ranked Newton hammered Hardin 63-3 to remain undefeated.

Brandon Johnson ran five times for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while Anthony Hadnot scored on his only carry, a 57-yarder. Roney Elam completed 5 of 8 passes for 140 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while running once for 22 yards.

Newton racked up 499 total yards, which included 359 rushing yards. Gabe Foster ran four times for 47 yards and a touchdown. Keyaun Seastrunk caught two passes, both touchdowns, for a total of 48 yards.

Jace Thomas, Calum Foster, and Jerry McLemore each ran for one touchdown. Foster also had a 59-yard reception.

Newton (9-0, 6-0) scored at least 62 points for the second consecutive week and third time in six district games. The Eagles conclude the regular season Friday at Woodville (2-7, 1-5).
