Several East Texas Volleyball Teams Ranked in Preseason TGCA Polls

Eleven East Texas-area volleyball teams are ranked in the preseason polls by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Spring Hill will open the season tied for No. 9 in the 3A poll, while a host of area teams begin the year ranked in 2A.

Defending state semifinalist White Oak is tied for No. 3, Quitman and New Diana are tied for ninth, and Eustace, Sabine and Palestine Westwood are in a tie for No. 17.

In Class A, defending state semifinalist Cayuga checks in tied for third, Beckville is tied at No. 9 and Overton and Fruitvale are each ranked No. 17.

Practices for the 2013 volleyball season began on Monday, and the first games are scheduled for Aug. 12 and 13.
