Just a few days after offering up his verbal commitment, Canton 2015 quarterback Chandler Eiland picked up another offer. SFA became the second school to offer Eiland, the Eagles' QB tweeted Friday morning.

Eiland (6-0, 178) committed to ULM on Tuesday, but that didn't stop the Lumberjacks from extending an invitation to Eiland, who will enter the 2014 season as one of East Texas' very best quarterbacks.

SFA, a Division I FCS school that competes in the Southland Conference, is looking to start fresh after making a coaching change following the 2013 season. Clint Conque, who spent 14 seasons at Central Arkansas, takes over for the departed J.C. Harper following a rough 3-9 season.

Eiland performed well at the second annual ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine on June 1 in Tyler.

In addition to being one of the most impressive quarterbacks during position-specific drills and one-on-one competition, he showcased his athleticism during the testing portion of the event as well. Eiland had the fastest time among the nine quarterbacks at pro agility (4.28), which is the standard for measuring lateral change of direction. He also was second in the medball exercise (2.47), which demonstrates upper-body explosion and reaction speed.

Eiland is hoping to get through his senior season healthy after he missed the better part of four games early in the season because of injury. When he returned, Eiland helped Canton recover from an 0-4 start to reach the playoffs. He finished the year with 1,861 passing yards and 18 touchdowns.

Canton will compete in the District 5-4A Division II this fall along with Bullard, Emory Rains, Gilmer, Melissa and Nevada Community.
