TATUM -- Shadow Sanders homered and drove in four runs and pitched four solid innings on the mound to lead Carlisle past McLeod 16-1 in five innings Saturday, completing the sweep of their Class A Region III area-round playoff series.

Carlisle (23-1) advanced to the regional quarterfinals where it will face Simms Bowie next week. Game 1 is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday from Lobo Field in Longview.

Sanders allowed one run on one hit and struck out four for the victory.

Gunner Baker went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, while Zach Brightwell and Clay Allphin each drove in three for the Indians.
