SAN ANTONIO — The Shelbyville Dragons’ season came to an end with a 70-60 loss to Stinnett West Texas in their Class 2A state semifinal Friday morning at the Alamodome.

West Texas (35-2) will meet Thorndale for the title at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, while Shelbyville finished its season at 32-5.

Shelbyville was doomed by a 27-point first quarter from West Texas, and trailed by 15 points entering the second period.

The Dragons outscored West Texas by five points the rest of the way but the damage had already been done.

Jalin Conyers led all scorers with 28 points for West Texas. He was an incredible 13-of-15 from the field as West Texas shot 63 percent as a team for the game.

Dalin Williams added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Shelbyville was led by Jordan Boykins, who finished with 25 points to go with five rebounds and three steals. Jakevian Buckley chipped in with 17 points, three boards, three assists, and two steals, and Cole Ferguson had 10 points, nine rebounds, and two steals.
