HOUSTON -- Diboll led Silsbee 1-0 in the Class 3A Region III baseball championship series entering Saturday, but the Tigers took two from the Lumberjacks to advance to the UIL state tournament in Austin.

Silsbee won 3-0 in Saturday's Game 2 before getting a Jordan Gore RBI walkoff single in Game 3 for a 5-4 win at Rice University's Reckling Park.

The Tigers came back from Thursday's 5-3 Game 1 loss to Diboll at the University of Houston.

Silsbee's Kris Elers broke open a 2-2 Game 3 tie with a sixth-inning two-run home run. Diboll tied the game again on a Silsbee error in the top of the seventh, but Colby LeBlanc's triple set up Gore's series-winning RBI single for the walk-off victory, according to the Beaumont Enterprise.

Three of Diboll's four Game 3 runs were unearned. Alex Grimaldo had an RBI single to account for the other run. Elers knocked in three runs for Silsbee, which plays in next week's state tournament at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin.

Silsbee's Matt Hartman and Tyler Powell combined for the Game 2 shutout.
