Sixteen East Texans Selected to TAPPS All-State Baseball Teams

East Texas schools produced seven first-team selections and six second-team picks with the release of the TAPPS all-state baseball squads.

Three-time defending Class 3A state champion Bullard Brook Hill put three players on the 3A first team and two on the second team. Seniors Kendall Kerns and Quintin Pile represented Brook Hill on both the all-state first team and all-state tournament team. Classmate Michael Greening joined them on the all-state first team.

Kerns is a three-time first-team all-state honoree. Greening was a two-time second-team selection the last two seasons. Brook Hill senior Collin Mondrick and sophomore Daniel Priddy were second-team picks.

Tyler All Saints senior Chandler Hammond was selected to the Class 4A first team for the second consecutive season. Tyler Grace senior pitcher Canaan Klaasen joined him on the 4A first team. Grace seniors Blake White and Jacob Spitzer were 4A second-team selections.

Like Hammond, Tyler East Texas Christian senior Cade Suggs was selected to the Class 2A/A first team for the second year in a row. Senior teammate Brett Bowers was also a first-teamer, while two more teammates -- sophomore Grayson Pirtle and senior William Finley -- were second-team picks.

Honorable mention honorees included All Saints senior Garrett Buatte (4A), Brook Hill freshman Clayton Engel (3A), and Brook Hill junior Jonah Gonzales (3A).
