Sky Holmes + Abby Mitchell Lead Pine Tree into Hoop Heaven Championship Game

LINDALE -- Sophomore Sky Holmes scored 22 points to lead the Pine Tree Lady Pirates by Brownsboro, 48-27, on Friday to reach Saturday's championship game of the Lindale Hoop Heaven basketball tournament.

Abby Mitchell hit four 3-pointers for all 12 of her points for Pine Tree, which will face Lindale at 6 p.m. Saturday for the title.

Lindale 74, Athens 45

Natasha Malone poured in 23 points in the Lindale Lady Eagles' 74-45 rout of Athens on Friday, sending the host team into Saturday's championship game.

Hannah Malone (15 points), Neely Doss (13) and Zhanelle Geathers (11) all reached double figures in scoring for Lindale.

Demi Cumby led Athens with 19 points.

Bullard 40, Kilgore 20

Maddy Slayter scored 10 points to lead the Bullard Lady Panthers to a 40-20 victory over Kilgore in loser's bracket action at the Hoop Heaven on Friday.

Tony Burks scored 12 points to spark Kilgore.

BOYS

Tyler Lee 48, Lindale 31

Taylor Tankersley scored 22 points to lead the Tyler Lee Red Raiders past host Lindale, 48-31, and into the boys championship game.

Mason Terry had 15 points to lead Lindale.

Lee (7-0) will face Whitehouse at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night for the tournament championship.

Whitehouse 62, Spring Hill 55

Patrick Mahomes scored 19 points to lead the Whitehouse Wildcats past Spring Hill, 62-55, to earn a spot in the tourney title game.

Jake Parker added 15 points and Spencer Shaw contributed 12 for the Wildcats.

Ben Brundrett led Spring Hill with 13 points. Clay Lattier had 10.

Pine Tree 52, Lufkin Hudson 49, OT

Caleb Chumley scored 25 points to help Pine Tree past Lufkin Hudson, 52-49, in overtime.

The Pirates rebounded from an eight-point halftime deficit for the win.

North Forney 78, Tyler T.K. Gorman 42

Armani Watts scored 20 points to help lead North Forney to a 78-42 rout of Tyler T.K. Gorman on Friday.

Michael Woods chipped with 14 points for North Forney.

Sean Goforth led the Crusaders with 13 points.
