MESQUITE -- Longview built a three-goal lead en route to a 3-1 win at North Mesquite in Tuesday's girls soccer matchup in Mesquite.

Felicia Ellison's goal off Memphis signee Jennifer Boudreau's assist gave Longview a 1-0 halftime lead. Krista Bellamy and Lauren Hall each scored an unassisted goal in the second half as Longview led 3-0 before a late North Mesquite goal.

Cara Bauer played the entire match in goal for Longview, which got strong defensive performances from Sarah Mack and Aide Godoy.

Longview, which improved to 14-3 overall and 3-1 in district play, gained a 9-5 shots-on-goal advantage.

Longview hosts Rockwall at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Lobo Stadium.

John Tyler Rolls to 2-0 Win Over Athens

ATHENS -- Adriana Perez scored two goals in the John Tyler Lady Lions' 2-0 win over Athens in District 31-4A action on Tuesday.

Perez wasted little time, scoring in the first minute of the match. Right before halftime, Perez stole the ball, outran the Athens defense and blasted her second goal of the match.

John Tyler returns to action Friday at home against Mabank.

Kilgore Outlasts Hallsville in Shootout

HALLSVILLE -- The Kilgore Bulldogs rallied from an early-two goal deficit by sending their match with Hallsville to overtime and a shootout where Kilgore prevailed on Tuesday in District 32-4A action.

Down 2-0, Kilgore cut the deficit to a goal right before the half. The Bulldogs then found the equalizer about 15 minutes into the second half, and the match remained tied for the rest of regulation and two overtime periods.

Kilgore scored on all five of its shots in the shootout period. Scoring in the shootout for Kilgore were Juan Perales, Benito Bustos, Alexis Torres, Christian Garcia and Jose Rico. Hallsville missed its second shot thanks to a safe by Juan Perales.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday at home against Pine Tree.
